Treyarch's Escalation map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops is now on the Xbox Live Marketplace as community head Josh Olin breaks the news.

It rounds off to about 986.42MB which features four new maps as well as the zombie-filled 'Call of the Dead'. It hits Xbox 360 first as part of a 3 year deal.

Don't worry that doesn't mean it won't be on PS3 and PC for 3 years, it means that any DLC for Black Ops released over the next 3 years will be getting a period of exclusivity on Xbox 360. Microsoft and Activision struck a deal with many dollars involved.

"That’s it folks. Downloading #Escalation right now on my Xbox 360. It may take time to hit your territory, but… It’s here!" twittered Treyarch's Olin.

Hotel, Convoy, Zoo and Stockpile are the new online maps included in the Escalation pack, as well as a welcome return for zombies in new mode 'Call of the Dead'. The map pack is 1200 MSP and can be queued up through the Xbox Live Marketplace site.

For the obscene price of $15 (considering the lousy content) these DLC's are a proper rip-off. Take your time releasing for PC, as I won't buy what used to be given away for free.

Black Ops: Escalation is awesome so far! A few minutes ago I came across a blog that's giving out the Escalation DLC for free! I thought it was a scam until I saw the DLC code laying in my e-mail inbox. :D

I'm not sure if there's any codes left, but if you want to give it a shot, here's the site:

It looks a lot better than the last one.
Still, the outdated textures and so-so maps just aren't worth the $$$.
I just wish they would make the Zombie levels a seperate purchase.

This won't make me reinstall BLOPS and it won't see my money. Not enough quality to barf up all that money. Release the mod tools and then we may see if there is an idea to reinstall BLOPS.
