Ubisoft has announced the development of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the final chapter in the Ezio Trilogy, and the forth installment for the franchise.

Developed and led by Ubisoft Montreal with the support and expertise of Ubisoft studios Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest, Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be released in November for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

In Assassin's Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.

The online multiplayer experience returns in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, refined and expanded, with more modes, more maps and more characters that allow players to test their assassin skills against others from around the world. The latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga also includes revolutionary gameplay, allowing players to manipulate the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future.

"Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans," said Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal. "Assassin’s Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year."

Expect to hear more about Assassin’s Creed: Revelations in June when E3 takes place.

I don't like Ezio, so I won't buy this one, Ezio really isn't a killer for me tbh.

Sounds like this will be the last game with Ezio but not the last AC game, I did want to play a new character but I do like Ezio and the location sounds good.

This is not the final installment for the Assassin's Creed Franchise, it's just the final story for the Ezio chapter. Ezio was a very cool character; he'll be missed.

So basically they will develop a new character after this one's story is completed?

I would like to see something new, and why not something in the 17th 18th/century France? Being the place to be if not Vienna - that could be some cool settings.

ACIII looks set to be based in Revolutionary France. I quite like Ezio, and the fact that you get to play as Altaïr as well, viewing the city two hundred years earlier, is an added bonus methinks.

I'm looking forward to it.

Time to wrap this up! A different time period would be cool!

Well in a way it wouldn't really make sense if they just "got rid" of Ezio. So I'm ok with it if they want to make another AC based on him.

I haven't played the first one so I don't know what is fitting for the entire meta-plot or not - but they killed that one off or just skipped to another assassin right? - so why not a new one?

I don't know maybe they can't make AC III because they can't make a story for it.

@ Devel. I haven't even got ACII, let alone ACII:B.

If you play as Altair too, it's great. Too bad my machine can't even run AC:B :((
