Rumor: Xbox dev kits at EA, but new Xbox reveal at E3 2011 "unlikely"

Develop Magazine has reported that the next generation of Xbox console prototype devkits have been spotted on desks at Electronic Arts.

However, Eurogamer has learned from sources that an E3 2011 reveal, open or closed door, is 'highly unlikely'. In addition, both Microsoft and Electronic Arts have declined comment.

This would, however, put the Xbox 720 (or whatever the console will be called) at 2013, since a reveal would be likely at E3 2012. Nintendo will be showing off the next-gen Wii this year at E3.

UPDATE: EA calls the rumor a "total fabrication".

They should in this instance already state whether the Kinect will work with he "720" right out of the box - since this is the selling argument right now. To transfer that and games without hassle would have been nice to know... Ah, well - time will tell..

Kinect will be built into the 720. Book it.

Hmm, I see that as a tricky thing JonahFalcon - that means that the thing will be hard to place in the living room....
