European trademark for 'Square Enix Masterpieces' spotted

Publisher Square Enix is up to something and it looks back catalogue related. They've said they wanted to "digitize" their "catalogue titles" in their fiscal 2011 report.

Fans speculate that Masterpieces will likely mean classic titles will be getting a HD facelift for new platforms. Kingdom Hearts became a 'Masterpiece' in Japan.

All the Kingdom Hearts games were bundled in a collection called 'Kingdom Hearts Trinity Master Pieces' in Japan. So it stands to reason then that this new European trademark will be following that trend. There's plenty of Final Fantasy to tap into.

Earlier in the year the Tomb Raider Trilogy was released which included Crystal Dynamic's Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary, and Tomb Raider Underworld all in one.
