Sorry but SEGA and their empire aren't producing a full fledge sequel to SEGA Rally in the near future, although they acknowledge "a bit of a resurgence".

Mike Hayes commends Codemasters for a "brilliant job" with F1 2011, and they're "constantly" evaluating whether it's a "viable market" again.

"The answer is no", said SEGA West CEO Mike Hayes. There will be no SEGA Rally sequel, which fans seem a little excited at the prospect of as SEGA Rally Online arrives for XBLA. The publisher won't rule out a possible return though.

"There's a bit of a resurgence in those games," says Hayes. "Codemasters did a brilliant job with F1 2011, it was first-class - and therefore, is it a viable market? We're constantly looking at it." SEGA closed the SEGA Rally developer back in 1997.

Codemasters snapped the team up and have been enjoying their racer expertise. Do you hope that SEGA will throw itself backing into the rally racer market?
