If you're in the UK you can pre-order Battlefield 3 Limited Edition: Physical Warfare Pack with retailer GAME or Gamestation, giving you exclusive stuff.

A Type 88 light machine gun, the SKS sniper rifle flash suppressor, and armour piercing rounds for the DAO-12 semi-automatic shotgun. Sounds sexy right?

As an added bonus to the package you also get "day one access to the highly versatile DAO-12 semi-automatic shotgun itself," reads the EA press release, not just the fancy ammo. Only GAME and Gamestation in the UK have this offer available. Official blurb:

"Players can storm the battlefield armed with powerful weapons and items only available in the Physical Warfare Pack including the Type 88 light machine gun with bipod for superior firepower and total zone control, the SKS sniper rifle flash suppressor that provides increased stealth abilities for Recon soldiers, and the lethal armor-piercing flechette ammo for the DAO-12 semi-automatic shotgun that is sure to tear through anything in its path. Also included is day one access to the highly versatile DAO-12 semi-automatic shotgun itself."

Beside those weapons you also get the 'Back to Karkand' expansion to the game which lets you "wage all-out war on four of the most celebrated maps from Battlefield 2," which include the Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman and the Sharqi Peninsula.

Battlefield 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later this year.

Sounds good, but I wouldn't use a suppressor on a sniper rifle (reduced distance).
EB Games in Australia offer this:
- Digital Expansion pack "Back to Karkland"
- Themed multiplayer expansion pack - includes four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 re-imaged with Frostbite 2 physics, destruction and visuals (might just be "Karkland", though).
- Classic Battlefield 2 weapons and vehicles, unique rewards, new achievements/trophies, and more.

And damage.

Suppressed sniper-rifle with increased firing speed and a good crowded map can be really fun way to play as a sniper on.
I guess that BF3 unfortunately will be a bit level and item dependent in the beginning as BFBC2 was. But as long as the game evens it out in the long run - a few nice surprises for the game and pre-orders could be fun.

The only reason I would be interested in BF3, is the story.

For me it is actually both the story and the multiplayer. I think that BF BC 2 turned out al-right in the MP part and have had loads of fun with that title.

Well I don't do MP. So the main attraction of games to me is the SP experience.
