Before the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot took form with Crystal Dynamics, the studio had another idea in mind called 'Cryptids' featuring another adventurer.
Sarah was the protagonist and seemed even bolder than Lara Croft in concept. Comparisons with the reboot are near identical - 'Cryptids' was the codename?
Scenes described in another leaked game script from Crystal more or less match this even earlier draft except that the main character is named 'Sarah Beele', not Lara. It seems 'Cryptids' may have been the codename for the studio's Tomb Raider reboot.
This 'Sarah' appears to have been less timid and both mentioned Conrad Roth as a character. The upcoming new Tomb Raider is an origins story for Lara Croft, exploring how she was before the adventurer went plundering tombs with little to no fear.
Tomb Raider releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at an unannounced date.
