Konami announced in its pre-E3 press conference that it has pushed Silent Hill: Downpour from a Fall to a Winter 2011 release. No reason was given for the delay.


The company also announced it was developing a new Silent Hill game for the PlayStation Vita called Silent Hill: Book of Memories, Konami did not provide much information on the game, but according to Silent Hill producer Tom Hulett, when the game arrives "later on down the road," it will be "taking the franchise places its never been before."
