A live-action feature film starring Capcom's 10 million unit strong franchise Devil May Cry is in the works, with Los Angeles-based Screen Gems handling the project.

Screenwriter Kyle Ward, who also wrote 'Hitman 2' and 'Kane & Lynch', is penning the script for Dante's arrival on the silver screen. Resi Evil did well so why not?

Screen Gems are responsible for Capcom's Resident Evil series achieving huge heights in the box office, even if parts of the fan base detest the direction they took. Devil May Cry is also rebooting over at Capcom as Ninja Theory are handling an origin's story.

Can Devil May Cry's absurd plots translate to cinema? There'll be no shortage of action thanks to completely over-the-top ways to dispatch bad guys in the videogame series.

Not another live action...

Hollywood has been short of ideas for a while now, with re-makes of re-makes, remade foreign films, re-inventions of a franchise and games-to-movies flooding the mainstream. Along with the delayed "Uncharted" and the just released "Red Faction Origins" this is just another in a stream of mediocre movies.

This might be good.
