Star Trek: Infinite Space launches in Fall

One of the more intriguing games that was shown off at E3 2011 was Gameforge's free-to-play, browser-based MMO Star Trek: Infinite Space. Unlike Star Trek Online, Infinite Space promises to give the full Star Trek experience, focusing as much on the diplomatic and social aspects of the series as much as the combat.

Gameforge has just announced that the MMO, which is currently in a closed beta, will be launched this Fall. We'll go into more detail on the game in an upcoming preview, so keep your eyes out for it. In the meantime, check out the trailer and visit the official site here.

Looks awesome for a browser game. I'll have to check it out.

Looks great, but I think the engine is the same as BSG's browser game, and that one has helplessly wonky controls :(

I am a Star Trek fan but never really liked the games for some reason I will make a try with this one.

Looks much better than "BSG Online" (no comparison at all), and more a "Armada"/ "D-A-C"/ "Hidden Evil" hybrid. Focus on Diplomacy would be a welcome addition as this has been left out or minimised in every other game. Definitley one to try.
