Brutal Legend developer Double Fine created Psychonauts and always controlled the IP but they did have to share what they made in sales with Majesco.
Well not anymore as the publisher's rights to the platformer are ending and Double Fine will get all the cash as the "sole publisher of Psychonauts!"
Programmer Anna Kipnis practically exploded with joy on : "Omg Double Fine is now the sole publisher of Psychonauts!! If you buy it now (on Steam, for instance), the proceeds go to us!" Double Fine always commanded creative control of the IP.
"Hang on guys! Don't rush out to buy Psychonauts just yet. Jumped the gun. Exciting DF Official Announcement coming!!" Kipnis later . Apparently it's not quite 100 percent just yet but Psychonauts will be imminently all under Tim Schafer soon enough.
Double Fine's creations since Psychonauts include Brutal Legend starring Jack Black, Costume Quest and Stacking with the studio busy with Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster and Trenched for Xbox 360 and Kinect. Are you a Psychonauts fan?
