Evan Wells is boss of Uncharted developer Naughty Dog, but is also a former Crystal Dynamics man. His ex-studio impresses him with Tomb Raider.
The origin reboot for the series has Wells excited, praising their CG trailer as they "executed it unbelievably well". He also doubts there'll ever be a cross-over.
Sorry but Uncharted's Nathan Drake and Tomb Raider's Lara Croft will only be 'meeting up' in fan art and fiction confirms Evan Wells: "We've seen some fan art online that shows how cool that could be, but I don't think that'll ever be on the cards."
The new Tomb Raider has Lara stranded on an island in the Pacific Ocean where she'll have to learn to adapt and survive the harsh environment. "It's exciting," said Wells. "I've not seen the demo but I saw that CG trailer that went out a couple of nights ago and that was fantastic. They executed it unbelievably well and I'm really excited about that game."
Meanwhile in Uncharted news there isn't confirmation of a fourth instalment yet but the Naughty Dog owner does tease it "wasn't conceived as a trilogy at all", and that Drake has plenty more to offer the world of relic hunting and bad guy bashing.
"Every single episode is a standalone adventure. We full like we can keep putting him in these scenarios that are self-contained that anyone can pick up and play, but if you have played them and know the characters and storylines it can be an even more rewarding experience."
"I don't see why we wouldn't keep going and making more of those adventures as long we've got the ideas." Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception releases exclusively on PS3 this year. Tomb Raider from Crystal Dynamics won't arrive until 2012 some time.
