Batman: Arkham City PC will be GFWL

Good news for PC gamers who also have an Xbox Live account - Batman: Arkham City will be Games for Windows Live, as the first Batman: Arkham Asylum was.


The biggest takeaway is that those gamers who have a Gamerscore can add on to it with PC Achievements - and those of you who really are Gamerscore whores, they can rent the Xbox 360 version and get double Achievements for the same game.

Oh dear, that's not going to go down well with many gamers. I don't have a problem with GFWL myself, except that now with so many services being hacked, it just makes one more. If linked with Steam, as likely will be this makes two services you need to be logged into, and that's a sticking point for many as well.

Well, I'll be getting the GFWL version because I have Arkham Asylum and it is freakin' gorgeous with all the graphics maxxed out AND I get Achievements AND I can stay in contact with Live friends.

i agree with 'herodotus' & 'jonah'..what the hell is wrong with GFWL live 'cos i've never had any problem with it too...Do people realize they need to use MSN hotmail's username/passwords exactly the same as for GFWL's U/P.

I don't like the focus of this new game, it seems to be leaning away from Batman and onto other characters.

No, the game is all about Batman, according to Rocksteady. That's why they confirmed there's no sidekick in the game.

Well, there is a part you can play as a side step and being catwoman. I think the game will be great, and that's why I'm sad it will be a GFWL game...

Apart from Reputation in GFWL (which can affect your MP matchups - bad sports love giving negative Reps to players) I don't get the problem. Better than SecuROM or StarForce.

GFWL doesn't ensure you get rid of SecuRom, and StarForce has luckily died out. GFWL has an xbox take on gaming, transferred to Pc a lack luster interface and store. They should check out Origin, at least some parts. Best thing is that most GFWL games can be played off-line.

Saw some footage of Catwoman in action last night and honestly she looks like a cross between Dare Devil and Electra to my eyes (those goggles are just too Dan Dare for me).
Wolfy, StarForce (now StarForce FrontLine 5.7) hasn't died out unfortuantely, and Publishers like 1C Publishing, Buka Entertainment and Eagle Dynamics ("the "DCS" series and "Lock-On") still support it.
