Take 2 not finished with Duke

Take Two isn't going to abandon Duke Nukem just because of bad reviews - they see a future with the iconic character who will probably live to see another game.

According to Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick in an interview with Forbes Magazine: "We don’t really talk about it in detail but you will see future Duke IP coming from this company.

Part of it is the economic opportunities that interact with entertainment are so huge. Part of it is that we are very creative folks in control. Part of it is we don’t want to ever be in the position of dumping something down just to make another buck."

Worse games have seen multiple iterations - think back on the Army Man series - because Duke Nukem Forever, despite a 50 Metacritic score, made a ton of money.

The next Duke Nukem game, however, won't have the crutch of being a cultural touchstone, and will have to be good to make money.

Good, Duke Nukem is a typical 3- put of 5 it lacks a lot but the game is fun to play, but could have been so much more. I enjoy my game and it is one of the few games I think I will play through to the end.

never played a Duke game so cant really say much. i have only heard bad reviews of the recent game but its nice to see companies sticking to their guns rather then just dropping the title.

Duke is a good IP, so i don't see any problems with a new game. Just because this one kinda sucked it doesn't mean the current developers can't make a good game. But if they also fail Duke will probably die for real. The game will have to stand on it's own, nostalgia wont help this time.
So best of luck to the developers, i hope the make Duke relevant again.

Who knows how the next sequel will look like. The one thing I know for sure is that Duke Nukem was one of the first PC games that I played when I was a thumb suckling... :D

Hehe, Duke is a good IP - and this game isn't worse off then any other rip we play our hearts out wishing they were actual PC games;)
