Former I Am Alive developer Darkworks is making Black Death which involves a city covered by a fog that turns people into violent roaming mutants.

Based in a North East US city, players must fight to stay alive and either kill or cure mutants. Biological weapons join traditional firearms in Black Death.

The studio says they're going back to their roots "with a fresh twist on the survival genre." Some screenshots of the game as well as some concept artwork has been posted. Apparently we can even control the fog that's plaguing the city.

"Black Death is the personification of the fear generated by the recent pandemics and the mistrust which has been associated to their supposed origins", reads the official game website. Darkworks was the original studio behind Ubisoft's I Am Alive.

"Our goal with Black Death is to go one step further by focusing the game on three essential elements: speed, fluidity and freedom of action, to offer the player a sensation of freedom and the possibility to create his own arsenal."

Black Death releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at an undisclosed date. Check out the official website for the newly announced game to find out more.

Should have been set in London, or even better - Berlin (anyone seen "Rammbock - Berlin Dead"?).
As for the film "The Fog", the original by John Carpenter was brilliant (John Houseman telling camp fire tales can't be missed). You must be talking about the woeful re-make.
