Since April 20th the PlayStation Network has been offline in Japan with no current date set for its return as Sony works with "various related parties".
In May the Japanese government blocked Sony turning PSN back on as promised countermeasures remained "incomplete" by the 13th.
Sony has issued a brief message to Japanese PS3 owners apologizing for the long delay but said more time was needed to as they worked with various groups related to its return, most notably the Japanese government.
"As of 13th May, Sony was incomplete in exercising measures that they said they will do on the 1st May press conference," said Kazushige Nobutani last month, director of the Media and Content Industry department at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The PSN hack left 77 million user accounts compromised with around 12.7 million credit card details possibly stolen in the attack. Europe and North America's PlayStation Network has returned to service but Japan remains extremely wary of Sony's promises.
