Warhammer 40K: Space Marine's PC system requirements out

Developer Relic has published the PC system requirements for their upcoming Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. It comes with Valve's Steamworks.

Your 'recommended' to have Windows 7 and a 512MB graphics card. You'll definitely need 20GB of hard drive space. It's out this September.


The requirements aren't that different from what most games like to spread their wings on these days. Once again THQ has favoured Steam over the Games for Windows Live client. Space Marine is a third-person shooter and not a real-time strategy from Relic.

Minimum specs:
- OS – Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7
- Processor – 2.0Ghz Dual core CPU (any Core 2 Duo or AMD X2 or better)
- RAM – 1GB (XP), 2GB (Vista), 2GB (Windows 7)
- Hard Drive – 20 GB space free (10 GB free after install)
- Video Card – 256MB Video Card using Shader Model 3 (Performance equivalent to an AMD Radeon 3850 or NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT)
- Online Steam account

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC September 6th in the US, the 9th in Europe. Can Relic transfer its magic from RTS to third-person?

Hefty downlload size, but to be expected for a multiplatform title (bugger it all). Pretty average Reqs means it will run well on consoles and medium range PC's without a hitch (that we know of). I'd like to see what's offered for high range PC's as in DX11 support.

Steam again, I thought we left the age of Steam along time ago. Blast. At least I shouldn't have too much trouble playing it.

I do have a Steam account, but I haven't used it since Supreme Commander 2.

Well, STEAM doesn't bother me that much - but we need to find out if there will be GFWL or something still to come and how much or not.

I have Steam so least thats one box ticked. Upgrading to a more powerful pc is on the list. I just have an office power computer really with no fancy bits in.

That so. Well if you want another from that company, you would have to get it from Fujitsu since they bought the other 50 % from the Siemens group in March 2009 for € 430 million Euros.
