Former talent behind Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Alone in the Dark have created a new studio called Blossom Minds, and want "original and quality" digital titles.

Their first videogame is due for launch in 2012. They're after "smaller games" with "big production polish." Whooping AAA titles aren't welcome anymore.

10 ex-Eden Games developers have banded together to start Blossom Minds, and aim for "original and quality content for the digital distribution market". Atari reduced the headcount at Eden which in turn went on a protest strike for a day.

"Blossom Minds is built on strong gameplay values, graphical skills and in-house state of the art technology, making smaller games but with big production polish," they said. "We are done with AAA titles; let us bring the OOOOOOH! instead."

51 of 80 members of staff were to be given the chop by Atari over at Eden Games earlier in May. "Eden Games pays now for Atari mismanagement," said the studio. They accused top bosses of profiting despite financial belts being tightened.

Good luck Blossom Minds.
