Kojima: LA Noire's tech a game changer, but not for me

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima thinks the tech in L.A. Noire is revolutionary, but his next game won't be using it.

"I'm very interested in (LA Noire), and I'm waiting for it to be released in Japanese," Kojima said in an interview with Edge. "I haven't played it yet but I was able to go to the studio where they were (performing the facial capture)."

He added, "The technology is absolutely fantastic. Nevertheless, for the next game I want to make, it isn't necessarily the technology I need, so I don't think it goes along with the next game I would like to create."

"This technology, regarding facial expressions - that affect the outcome of the game - I think that's a huge element that from now on will change the direction of adventure games," he stated in conclusion.

@unsilviu: Yes, it is.

I think the mocap is just the next step in how games are made, kinda like how it's been used on the Tony Hawk and skate. series practically since their inception. Everyone will be using it soon enough.
