EA buys ModernWarfare3.com, redirects to Battlefield 3 site

In one of the funnier website squatter stories out there, Electronic Arts took advantage of Activision's laxness in buying web domains to prevent cybersquatters, and purchased ModernWarfare3.com - and has it redirecting the traffic to Battlefield 3's official site!

Will this influence Call of Duty gamers into buying Battlefield 3? Regardless, it has to chafe Activision to no end.

Love it. Though it won't take much of a court case for EA to be ordered to turn over the web domain :\

It'll be fun to watch the competitive nature of the two publishers coming into full play in the coming months.
