It was only a matter of time before another comic book hero elicited the gaze of Hollywood executives, now that dino-slaying and bow slinging Turok guy is up next.

Native American star Adam Beach has revealed meetings are about to take place "to develop a script and put it out there,".

The 1997 videogame of Turok released on Nintendo 64 brought huge popularity to a comic character around as early as 1954. It was vastly successful and helped shaped the future of the first-person shooter genre.

"We just finished the animated movie and now we’re going into the feature film movie hopefully in a couple years. We’re about to set up meetings to develop a script and put it out there," said Bleach exclusively to MTV Movies.

"I’ll have to beef up, and be a good guy, and save the world!"

Let's hope the action film fairs much better than the recently released game which fell short of fans expectations and the hype.

Come on WoW, we all know what you secretly feel about him, heh heh. A few years away for the film? They'd better come out with a better game than the recent release to keep interest going.

Very underated game. Heck, I think it's pretty cool they're making a feature film outta it. Turok deserves at least that much! Now if only they got a good director...like Uwe Boll!! :)

Same here. I thought Turok was a pretty decent game. Nobody seemed to like it though. Maybe everyone was too busy playing CoD4???
