Publisher 505 Games and developer HB Studios has announced that a demo for Rugby World Cup 2011 will be hitting Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network in August.

The demo will feature England v South Africa with the match set in Auckland. The full version of the game will allow players to pick from the 20 participating teams and attempt to lead their team through the pool phase, and progress to the Final with the opportunity to lift the prestigious Webb Ellis Cup.

The full game will replicate national rivalries, venues and player personalities, with solo play or with up to three other players in local multiplayer matches. The game will also feature online multiplayer for the first time, allowing players the chance to fight for the glory of their country with online matches on Xbox Live and PSN

The Rugby World Cup 2011 demo will be live on Marketplace on August 2 and PSN on August 3.

That should be fun, but the AB's playing against the Springboks in NZ would have been better (leaving that one for the full game). The Springboks aren't popular at all in NZ after the food poisoning accusations years ago (when SA won the World Cup against the all conquering AB's).
I'll look forward to the demo for PS3, and knick that console off my son to play it:)
