Each and every class has its own story that's so huge, the story is broken up into a trilogy of films, and each and every class can be played differently, leading to a new story each time.

I'm going to be a Light side Imperial Agent (Sniper advanced class.)

I'm going to try a dark side Jedi Knight, actually curious how they'll do that, in all previous SW games, a dark side Jedi was automatically a Sith. A light-side bounty hunter, too.

I always go for the good side first and the replay as a bad guy. So i guess i'll do the same here, I haven't decided on any class yet. Something that lets you shoot lightning from your fingers i guess.

For my first character I think I will have to go for light side jedi! :D

That's the thing that makes me a bit reserved about this game, actually. I fear everyone will go for LS Jedi, and we'll have an oversaturation of them, and very few smugglers/troopers.This being an MMO, there will probably be need of all classes in the endgame.

I played the older games, but what is this? Looks like an MMORPG? But from what is written it sounds like a normal game (:D) Is it an online game or singleplay?

PS: I always play with "Good" first, but the dark side is soooo much better >:D
Join the dark side! We have cookies!

@unsilviu: A Dark Side Jedi Knight is basically Renegade "Colossal Dickasaurus" Shepard.

"I fear everyone will go for LS Jedi, and we'll have an oversaturation of them, and very few smugglers/troopers"

The Troopers were ridiculously overpowered in the beta, and dominated PvP.

@Jonah - I agree about there being too many LS jedi's, but i dont think i will be able to resist! :P but yes like i say it is also a concern of mine.

Well, making the other classes OP isn't a solution either. Giving them interesting abilities and not giving Jedi central roles in the plot all the time is, however, I think.

Making other classes OP is exactly the wrong answer.

All the movies show Force users to totally own other classes, sure they can be defeated but only in the right conditions like betreyal and being completely outnumbered. A jedi ready to fight is basically a force of nature.
Troopes were a joke most of the time and even the assasins were prety mush helpless against the jedi/sith.

But obviously this is a game and not a movie and all classes need to be competitive. Making jedi weak is similar to making german tanks weak in WOT, it pisses people off.

Well, in KotOR you could defeat Jedi while using only blasters/normal swords, so I guess that's the view theyre aiming for. And we COULD assume that the jedi we play ingame are morons the Council sends out to get rid of :P

LoL
I gues we could assume that :)

I've got this one pre-ordered and I know I'll make a Jedi (Just because... come on, it's a Jedi) but I'll be wanting to make my main character a medic-speced Smuggler :)

I will be.... playing other games and trying to retain a life ;)
May the force be with you guys (to not forget eating, drinking but most importantly for your own sake - never to forget the power of the toilette! ;) )

Looks ok. I would like it better if it was a co-op rpg.

a real big and nice warm pile of BS!!! They should have made a singleplayer campaign or something. now we will have another Galaxies. I enjoy singleplayer much more! without lags, stupid high level PvPers and with a storyline!!! and hate the stupid MMORPG games that have no goal but to level up and get some new gear or weapon... waste of money and time!!!

and besides now EA has its claws on the old republic...
at least nice to see Bioware back on the old republic after KOTOR II...

I always wanted a kotor 3... this is good too though! :P

@dontpKaniC You do know TOR will have a storyline, several actually. And lags are basically inexistent in modern MMO's, if you have a non-DSL connection :P I only had lag once, when my router was overheating.

That Sith Inquisitor doesn't look so convincing. I wish they made them look really evil as they are supposed to be.

there will be a story line yes, but just the same as all other MMORPG games! some quests, but not a storyline that sees the player have a huge effect on the entire galaxy (which is what star wars is all about!!!, at least the KOTOR games)!!! also the quests will be probably: go there, kill him, return, get reward... no advanced storyline events like secret infiltrations, huge battles, or galaxy changing events.

Dude, you actually need to watch the latest developer walkthrough of The Old Republic. It sounds like secret infiltrations and big battles to me.

Every character on the game has recorded dialogue, so i doubt they would do that if they weren't going to bother with interesting storylines, and yes it also sounds to me like there will be a vast range of cool missions, i used to play wow and in their last 2 expansions that felt like it had big important quests which literally changed the world so I'm pretty sure star wars can do that.
