Capcom's product manager John Diamonon has revealed that high eBay prices on some of their cult classics have played factors in revival decisions.
He was quick to point out that "it’s certainly not the only thing we do" to study interest, gaming polls and the fan community itself are crucial too.
"To choose titles to revive, we see if we can give old franchises the modern touch, and we evaluate the fanbase and see if there's a market for it," Diamonon told .
"Sometimes we see games on eBay, and that's how you see what games people are willing to spend $80 on."
The power of eBay is frightful indeed. Rival of classic hits seems to be playing a recurring role for Capcom these days with more and more taking advantage of Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
