A lengthy seven minutes worth of B-roll gameplay footage has been released from the Diablo III beta, which was recorded at the July 27th media/press event.

It's just pure HUD-less footage of smashing up monsters. There's no music either, just sound effects and a grunt or two. The beta is expected this September.

Blizzard has revealed a number of startling facts about Diablo III which includes needing a constant Internet connection to Battle.net, a complete ban on mods and an auction house that fully supports trades in real-life currency. Check out the B-roll clip below.

While the game looks super awesome the fact that there's the "Always online" DRM is a complete deal breaker.

I don't have an issue with most of that, the no mods is a bit lame, the always on isn't a problem, as I'm always online anyway.
And I think the real life money auction house is probably a good thing, it will happen anyway, much better that its official and properly moderated.

You might be online all the time but there's no guarantee that the servers will be when you want to play.

The game looks nice, but these guys are turning into control freaks, which is not cool.
