No DLC for Dark Souls

IGN is reporting that Namco-Bandai announced in behind-closed-doors presentation of Dark Souls that the game will not have any downloadable content, and will "be a stand-alone, static package."

This was revealed by a Namco representative, who also stated that From Software's game will be released in October.

Dark Souls will reportedly take around 50-60 hours to complete, with a region three times the size of the map of predecessor Demon's Souls. Dark Souls will also double the spells, items, weapons, armor and other equipment available of Demon's Souls.

How is NOT having DLC all of a sudden worth an announcement?

DLC often means they take out chunks of the game to sell for more $$, nowadays it's become sort of a quality statement, you only buy the game once :P

Nice.

Great news.

I'm tired of all those DLCs.

DLC is not bad by definition, it's only when they start doing what unsilviu said that it becomes bad.
So unfortunately no DLC actually does sound like a bonus.
