Square-Enix announced in a press release new downloadable content coming in October for Obsidian's action-RPG Dungeon Siege III titled "Treasures of the Sun". The DLC will introduce the Aranoi Desert as a new environment and a whole new plot arc with additional quests, enemies and loot, as well as raising the level cap from 30 to 35.

According to the presser, "On their search for a lost Legion hero, players will fight through hordes of new villains only to find a forgotten abbey hiding a long-lost secret: the greatest treasure of the Azunite faith."

The feature list bullet-points include:

* New abilities: Players will be able to attain mastery of the arcane through powerful new attack, defense and healing abilities.
* Level up to 35: DUNGEON SIEGE III: TREASURES OF THE SUN will further power up players by raising DUNGEON SIEGE III's existing level cap from 30 to 35.
* More monsters and items: Players will encounter new monsters in the Aranoi Desert-including mummies and giant skeletons-and will find more powerful items, adding to the thousands already available in DUNGEON SIEGE III.
* Reallocate Talent & Proficiency Points: Players can reallocate points spent in Proficiencies and Talents, enabling changes to character customization throughout the campaign.
* New Enchanting System: Transmuting items now gives players chances at gaining powerful new Vials that allow them to enhance their weapons and armor through the DLC's new enchanting system.

The DLC will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($9.99 USD).

I haven't played the game just yet, but I heard rumors that the game is terrible, not anything like the older Dungeon Siege games.

I'll test the game myself, maybe the game is better, any one got any info?

Interesting that they want to sell a DLC to a gme for 9.99 when most people wouldn't even pay that for the original game ;)

DS3 isn't a good game. Not bad - more uninteresting and bland. Not good to feel that you are ion control and the system and updates to your character feels very awkward and difficult to know what they do exactly..

That is a pity. I am a huge Dungeon Siege fan, and I was really looking forward to this game.

It was more enjoyable on console - now I wonder how that could be...
Though not even the two player co-op felt that fun...

Did you just say you pirate Blizzard games? Piracy is... frowned upon here.

Cracked games are fun, I have no problem with them, because I see them as a means of advertising.

However, now a days, if you want the full experience of games, you need to purchase the originals. Starcraft II for an example: You can crack the game, and play it offline, but in order to really enjoy it, you need to play online.

Games have online activation, and therefore limited pirated playability due to widespread piracy.

I love playing online, it is so much fun, and it ruins the lust for piracy as well. I understand why people Pirate, because games don't come cheap, but I believe that nothing great is for free, so I am happy to pay for my entertainment.

I do however see Pirated games as I means for me to see whether I want to buy the original or not. I tend to test a game first, and then buy it afterwards if I love it.

Advertising and/or Endorsing Piracy here is forbidden according to Posting Rules. Stop it now guys.

If you wish to discuss illegal activities take it to Private Mail, or better still don't!

How, exactly, does a stolen game advertise itself? Seriously. All it says is, "Steal me! I'm free!"
By unsilviu (SI Core) on Sep 06, 2011

Yep, the only was it would be advertising would be if the pirate had honor and was sure to buy the game afterwards. But that definition cancels itself out, a pirate is illegally downloading a game, ergo not much honor. If you want to test the game, use the traditional outlets: demos, trailers, forums, StrategyInformer...

I agree, it is better to test games the traditional way. I buy this magazine every month that is created by South African gamers, it's called: NAG (New Age Gaming). It usually gives you all of the latest information about the gaming industry.

Guys, if you would like to do open discussion about piracy and support it, then please do it elsewhere. Companies live from the games that they sell, and we have SI due to people that actually buy games. Don't be the enemy. You were warned.

Understood Kres. I think you misunderstood the converstaion, but I understand, and from my side this will stop. My apologies!
