If you've ever dreamed of playing a kart racer with all of the characters from Dreamworks Animation, your wish has come true as Activision has announced Dreamworks Super Star Karts, fulfilling that fantasy of racing in karts as Shrek, Alex the Lion, B.O.B., and other characters.

“We’ve brought together 14 of the most beloved characters from Shrek, Madagascar, How To Train Your Dragon and Monsters Vs. Aliens into one thrilling new kart racing game,” said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “For the first time ever, we’re giving fans a super star lineup of some of DreamWorks Animation’s most famous characters!”

As with most kart racers, players choose their Dreamworks character and engaging in racing loaded with powerups through odd race courses filled with stunts, tricks and unique weaponry, with Madagascar's King Julien providing the commentary. (One would hope it's Sacha Baron Cohen providing the voice work, but it's doubtful.) Game modes include Battle, Circuit and Time Trial, along with four player split screen multiplayer.

Dreamworks Super Star Karts will be released this upcoming holiday season on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, among other platforms.
