Blizzard expected to ship Diablo III in early 2012

Blizzard has announced today that it plans to ship Diablo III for the PC in early 2012.

"With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn't put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we're taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players. Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers."

Diablo III is exclusively for the PC at the moment, but there's a chance that it will also make it to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the future.

Well, this could be enough to actually piss some more people off and also lessen the time the console games have to wait...
IF we are lucky - I doubt it though - they have enough time to get real and remove the no pause option and the always online option...
As a father - I know that I have to jump ship on my gaming in two seconds flat - and no pause - then I'm f**cked and in BFBC2 and other online competitive games, I can accept that - but playing a single player game? No way.

The longer it takes to launch the more I don't want it. There are a lot of design choices I don't care for.

I am not a huge RPG fan. I like to play them, and sometimes I get consumed by the game, but I prefer the RTS and FPS a lot more.
