Dead Space 3 details leaked

The leaked video seen last week was apparently the real deal, as an unnamed source at Electronic Arts has confirmed that it's developing Dead Space 3, and instead of taking place on a spaceship, the game will take place on an ice world with severe blizzard conditions.

No more necromorphs for Isaac

Spoiler Warnings!

According to Siliconera, the game begins with luckless hero Isaac crash landing on the frigid planet Tau Volantis. Isaac finds his way to an abandoned waystation which he uses to provide shelter from the elements. He finds a severely injured survivor from the crash, who tells him that there are other survivors, including none other than Ellie. Determined, Isaac grabs a snowsuit and heads into the blizzard.

Eventually, Isaac finds Ellie and a new companion named Jennifer, a tech specialist. The three of them scale a mountain, which Jennifer is reluctant to do. Part of it could be that she was one of the engineers who attempted to reverse-engineer a codex, an effort led by her group, Rosetta. It doesn't help that during their ascent, a strange howl can be heard from an unknown, unseen creature. EA refers to the new enemies in the game as having a "hive mind".

Spoiler Warning Over!

No release date or platform has been announced for Dead Space 3, but one may assume it'll be 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I can already imagine the sound design, Dead Space 1 and 2 has the best in any game (or any medium) ever.

Looking forward to DS3, best IP (for me) this gen.

Only drawback will be, this game won't freak me out anymore. XD

Not going to fall for the hype again - this was not my kind of games.
Good for you who liked it though to have a follow up.
