345 Games has announced Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat, which is a bundle of their two previous Deadliest Warrior titles, along with some added content. The bundleware will be released this coming December for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The game is based on the Spike TV series of the same name, which posits how different types of soldiers from wildly different eras would fight with each other. For example, how a Roman legion would deal with a Zulu warrior. This bundle includes Deadliest Warrior: The Game and Deadliest Warrior: Legends, with all of the DLC from both games included, along with a few never-before-seen episodes from the TV series.
Based on the successful multi-platform Spike TV series “Deadliest Warrior” that pits two of the most feared warriors civilization has ever known against each other, “Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat” is a disc-based game/TV show hybrid that combines the wildly popular downloadable console games, “Deadliest Warrior: The Game,” “DeadliestWarrior: Legends” including all downloadable content packs, new game features and exclusive TV show content. Fans of the show will be treated to never-before-released episodes from all three seasons.
According to the press release, the bonus content includes "game content that is exclusive to DW: Ancient Combat (which) includes a ‘Graveyard’ playable arena and 30 new weapons for the “DW: Legends” warriors, including a ‘Lochaber Axe’ for William Wallace, a ‘Monk’s Spade’ for Sun Tzu and a ‘Tsonga Battle Axe’ for Shaka Zula."
Despite the educational aspect of the game, it's rated M for mature. Ancient combat, after all, is not pretty.
