Speaking in an interview, Battlefield 3 executive produced Patrick Bach confesses that he's 'always ashamed' "about the games Iím involved in making."

He can't 'bring himself' to start up Battlefield: Bad Company 2, despite knowing it's "great", because Bach only sees what they "could have done better."

"I donít know why, but I always feel ashamed about the games Iím involved in making," explained Patrick Bach, in a Wall Street Journal interview.

"I canít even bring myself to start up Battlefield: Bad Company 2, our last game, because I feel so ashamed." He adds: "I know it is a great product but still I only see the things we could have done better."

Others at DICE, "including me, are feeling that if they only had one week more, we could have done so much more. People seem to focus on what they could have done, rather than on what we have already managed to achieve."

Battlefield 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 25th in the US, 28th in Europe. The open beta is now running for all and pre-orders have surpassed 1.5 million.

Hmmmm, self-esteem issues or what. Ah well, he's only human but then I wouldn't be airing my personal life publicly (unless I was Paris Hilton - woot!).
Too many "BF" gamers already feel "BF3" has resorted to "selling out" to console gamers by making it more "CoD-like" ("BF:BC 2" started that trend).
If DICE were more like Blizzard (tweaking within an inch of the game's life - and then some more), they'd have spent ten years on "BF:BC 2" and we'd still be waiting for it to be released.
