343 Industries has revealed how Kinect will be used in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition and possibly future games in the series. The three Kinect features that will be used in Halo: CE are Voice Commands, The Library and Analyze Mode.
Voice Commands are exactly what they sound like. Players can bark out vocal commands to reload their weapon, throw grenades and switch between the Classic and Remastered graphics.
Analyze Mode will let players scan items during singleplayer into what 343 Industry refers to as The Library, which can be considered a sort of Codex, in which the player collects data on weapons, vehicles, characters and enemies. You could describe it as a collectible mini-game similar to the Codex in Mass Effect. The Library will be where the player can peruse all the data that has been collected.
It doesn't seem that Kinect will seriously affect gameplay, but being able to throw grenades or reload without taking your fingers off the left analog and trigger could offer an interesting experience.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition will be released on the Xbox 360 on 15th November, 2011.
