I don't play this game but i have to say I don't like the Kung-fu Panda at all. It almost has an effect of a commercial, somehow it doesn't quite fit within the rest of the content. And of course they are Chinese as well, a Chinese Kung-fu panda how very original.

"The pandaren started as a creation of the Blizzard artist Samwise Didier and an April Fool's joke, but they got a massive response from Warcraft fans. In the first BlizzCast episode launched on Jan. 10, 2008, Samwise recalled the process to the creation of the Pandaren April Fool's page: "But so we put that up in there and everyone was like “Oh my God! A PANDA RACE? That’s kind of cool!” And I’m like “Are you kidding me, really? You want to see pandas in Warcraft III or whatever?”" Soon, they were included in the Warcraft III expansion and Chris Metzen began to write them into the game lore. Due to this popularity, pandaren were rumored to be the new playable Alliance race to be introduced in the Burning Crusade expansion." in http://www.wowwiki.com/Pandaren

I'll bet they end up as tradeable items (or ones to sell and buy) just as with "TF2" hats, may they burn forever in hell.

@devel wowwiki is old, I think wowpedia is where most wowwikians went :P
And yeah, they just said in the Lore Q&A that the pandaren were far from being a one-dimensional joke race, that they'll have a lot of complexities and that they'll ultimately be the solution to ending the Alliance-Horde war.
By the way, my understanding is that while players will be enjoying sunshine and bunnies in Pandaria, all-out war will erupt in Azeroth.

wow thats dumb, I expected even if there WAS another wow expansion, for it to be much better than this...

I wonder if horde AND alliance will have access to the new race? or perhaps horde gets another race while alliance gets the pandas.

idk, seems really off-balance in WoW.

Both factions have access to the new race.

Hahaha, good one :)
I wonder if it will ever go f2p or will they simply launch a new game instead. WoW is getting quite old by now, people will want something new sooner or later.

I have to agree. I love Blizzard, and I love the Warcraft games, but it is time to make a change.

I know that BLizzard is busy with Project Titan, but that might take a while before it is launched.

Then again, I understand that WoW still needs to compete with games like the uprising Guild Wars 2.

Yeah, not really impressed by this new expansion. I get that it was a joke, and a joke that a fair number of the fans actually though might have been a cool idea, but I'm surprised they really didn't have anything better to do than indulge the community on this one.

Considering that the two games are very different, and not just in setting but also design philosophy, I wouldn't say that.
