Rumor: Just Cause 3 next year?

The latest issue of Xbox World's rumor section is claiming that developer Avalanche is currently developing Just Cause 3, which will be released next year.

The rumor reads, "Our spies say devs Avalanche are hard at work as we speak, and that it's set for release next year."

This would hardly be surprising, of course. Not only was the game well-received by critics and fans, but Avalanche's studio head Christofer Sundberg stated the developer was very interested in a third installment, stating, "We are absolutely interested in working with the Just Cause IP again."

Sundberg also hinted that gamers "shouldn't be surprised" to see a Just Cause 3. Looks like fans won't have much longer to wait.

What I want to see is something to do between missions besides blow up bases. Just too vast for 1 person.

Mix Saints Row 2 with Just Cause 2, and we might see a truly great game.

Still have to complete "JC2" - a lot of fun, however the sanbox does feel a little too big at times (trying to keep track of missions requires a good memory, or a notepad).

Just Cause is one of the most repetitive games I have played. One hour gameplay redone over and over until you finished it. I got some cheats to get me through the really boring fighting to see the end of the game and uninstalled it. Took me 6 hours of normal play and then added 2 with some never ending ammo to finish the crap...
Not looking forward to a follow up...

I think that all the roaming around was the actual purpose of the game and the missions were only there as an excuse of a sort. It was more of a game for people that like to either "complete" games or for those that really like sandbox. Tons of bases to blow up and stuff to collect. It even showed you an exact percentage of progression baiting you to go for 100%.

I just finished the main game and occasionally just screwed around a bit but i got bored eventually as well. The game looked really nice though, a nice big world. But then again i used cheats for the airplanes all the time, it would be a pain to travel otherwise.

The game suffered from not offering much of the sandbox as much as a huge island with de-structable and key-locations and enemies giving you a percentage score to clean up. But the bases came in two or three versions, the small road villages in three versions and then the cities. Collectibles as vehicles etc was fun the first ride - then you had most of the vehicles after a hectic road trip - there was nothing left then trying to get 100% on all the locations that looked the same. The main story actually offered something to the game - it was the exact opposite of Oblivion where you start wandering and don't want to stop to do the silly main quest...

Yup, what you said, FoolWolf. Very repetitive game.
The first JC was fun, and I even bothered finishing it. But JC2 sucked ass in my opinion. The "missions" were all the same, the story was too generic, like it didn't know What it wanted to be about. And the controls felt like they were designed by some retard with no hands.
Definitely won't bother with the third one!

Never played the first, but read the oh-so-average reviews ("diamond in the rough"). I've enjoyed what little I've played of "JC2", but it's a novelty item so I've tried it, but won't be coming back for more.
