Gamers who preorder Trine 2 on Steam can instantly start playing in the pre-release multiplayer beta. The Steam page also lists a December 2011 release date.


The game has a $14.99 USD price and those who pre-purchase the game will also be awarded "a few very cool TF2 hats coming as pre-order bonuses," according to Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen.

Frozenbyte has also announced that the developer will "most likely release at least one DLC campaign" for Trine 2.

Trine 2 is due to be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No official release date has been announced yet by Frozenbyte.
