Stardock's games have traditionally been exclusives to the publisher's own digital distribution service Impulse. The publisher has now given in and has released its most popular game, Sins of a Solar Empire, on Steam, and has promised more game releases on Valve's digital distributor.

Thanks to the purchase of Impulse by US videogame retailer GameStop, the publisher no longer feels any conflict of interest with selling the game on Steam. “With the sale of our former PC digital download technology to GameStop earlier this year, we no longer have any conflicts of interest in offering our titles to other digital distribution channels,” said Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock. “We are starting with Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity with other titles being made available over the coming weeks.”

Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity will be available for $19.99 USD on Steam, whose game page can be found here, and for this week, will have an instant 25% discount. The original game earned an 8.7/10 review from Strategy Informer.

I just bought it too :D Granted, some people didn't care for it, but I got the first game back before you needed Impulse to play it and really enjoy the title. Now with the expansion packs, I'm looking forward to plugging away at this again.

I have the base game+Entrenchment alreadly on what used to be Stardock Impulse but am tempted to get the pack on Steam as "Diplomacy" by itself is still $10.
Then I can add the "Sacrifice of Angels" Star Trek Mod:)
Anyone who calls themselves a fan of strategy and doesn't own this already, hang head in shame and buy now. The strategies are many, varied and with endless possibilities in forging your way to victory.
Still looks darn brilliant, btw.
