Using the CryENGINE 3 game engine, City Interactive are developing Enemy Front as a "gritty" multi-platform first-person shooter set during the "carnage and chaos" of World War 2.
Stuart Black is the project lead for Enemy Front. It's about the "realistic tale of a hardened soldier" behind German lines with "dynamic, diversified missions" to cripple our foe.
These missions range from skirmishes, espionage and sabotage. The story of Enemy Front spans "several years and key battles" as it takes us from "desolate" French trenches to Berlin.
"Once there, the player must thwart the plans for a terrifying weapon that will all but assure a global Nazis victory," teases City. "Enemy Front also features a complex plot that explores the notable historical threads of WWII to include the events that occurred in the Wolf’s Lair and the activities that surrounded the deciphering of the Enigma code."
Stuart Black created original Xbox shooter Black to critical acclaim, and he left Codemasters for City. "Having joined City Interactive earlier this year, Stuart Black brings an extensive understanding and creative approach to the genre heralds one of the most ambitious and gritty WWII action titles of 2012." Below are the first four screenshots released.
Enemy Front releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012.
