With over 700,000 subscriptions so far since launching in May, Funcom are not unsurprisingly buoyed that Age of Conan remains top dog in PC sales charts worldwide.

The developer proudly announces that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is "the undisputed #2 subscription MMO in the western world."

Still a way of from the number one MMO in town, World of Warcraft has over 10.7 million subscriptions and has been estimated to have brought over $1.2 billion into the industry.

"It has remained the overall #1 PC game in most European markets," Funcom stated. "No substantial sales data for June is yet available from the US market, but Age of Conan was the #1 PC game in the latest official NPD update."

"All we care about now is to make Age of Conan into an even better game," added Gaute Godager. "We have extensive plans to ensure that Age of Conan remains a top MMO alternative for many years to come."

If Conan made his debut 3 years ago, WoW wouldn't be that popular at all!

I wanted to buy it but then read all around that it is filled with bugs. Hence why I didn't.

And that official site doesn't load for at least a week now. Probably longer.

I have it, I play it... it is good stuff.
As a veteran of EQ1, EQ2, City of Heroes, and Lord of the Rings Online I can easily say that this is an extremely well thought out and executed MMORPG. Concerning the kids screaming at the forums about how bad it sucks - I suspect they are off their Ridlin.
I wonder if forum barrages are become some form of internet sport.
You certainly see more and more of it when new titles are released, especially new titles that are in direct competition with some other game.
That is just the opinion of one old man though...
