BioWare's December Spike VGA reveal linked to Command & Conquer?

A link has surfaced between BioWare's impending new game reveal and the Command & Conquer franchise as a Victory Games worker CV said they worked at a BioWare studio.

Victory Games was created by EA to head up their strategy titles, and is said to be reviving Command & Conquer. The studio promised a reveal "later this year" - mere coincidence?

A teaser for the Spike VGAs showed a tank blasting APCs in an urban setting, which naturally fits Command & Conquer. It said a 'new direction' for a 'new game'.

The LinkedIn profile that showed the Victory Games employee at a BioWare studio has since withdrawn the information. BioWare is well known for its role-playing games and has MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic launching just after mid-December. Are they now branching out to strategy games, starting with Command & Conquer?

It sure looks like it. Will we be getting RPG elements or are they going pure RTS? We'll have to wait and see for the Spike VGAs which air December 10th. There was speculation 'Mercs Inc' was involved but that's been shot down.

As long as they keep the people that butchered the last game as far away as possible i'm looking forward to this.

Indeed. C&C 4 was such a huge let down. But, maybe keep the live actors? They've actually grown on me and if Bioware is truly at the helm, maybe we'll see a true movie like quality akin to the some of the old Wing Commander games as far as FMV is concerned?

"C&C: RA#" ad "C&C4", paricularly the latter (that shll forever be denounced by any RTS enthusiast) really lost me as a fan. The FMV in "RA3" was good, but I disagree with Longsword in that EA really scimped on hiring any good talent for the game that goes unnamed.
RTS with RPG elements....I'm all over it.

Lol, RTS with RPG does sound quite enjoyable. And I supposed for the "unnamed", maybe it's just that I grew up on how campy it could be, haha ;) Kinda like "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" starring Kevin Sorbo... if it hadn't been for that fact that I saw those as a youngster, I probably would have hated it :P

I enjoyed the actors in "C&C3" much more, as they were clearly having fun, and two of my favourite actresses were in it (from "House" and "BSG").
"RA3" - Gemma Atkinson...need I say more:)

True, CnC3 was better than CnC4 and RA3 in every way including the FMV (until they ruined it with super units). I have bought RA3 on day one, played the coop campaign with a buddy, played the multiplayer for a few days and unistalled it. Luckily i got into beta for CnC4 and i hated it the moment i saw it, what a load of crap that was.

I want real CnC back with a proper economy and basebuilding.
