We're on the brink of December and some more details of Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2 has come from Japanese magazine Famitsu. Like chocobos? Good, because there's plenty.

They can join as a party member, be raced in a casino-like area or used as mounts. There's a troublesome red chocobo to watch out for apparently, but it may offer a side story.

What the heck is a chocobos? Think ostrich and you've pretty much nailed it. We can purchase gysahl greens from Chocolina, a time travelling merchant, to feed our big birds.

Also revealed are changing monsters and music to suit what kind of weather an area is experiencing; fine weather, sandstorm, thunderstorm and more one undisclosed. There are also Live Trigger events in conversations using the face buttons to answer for Noel or Sarah. The JRPG sequel releases this month in Japan.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 January 31st in the US, February 3rd in Europe.
