The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim v1.2 breaks resistances, has backward flying dragons

While nasty game breaking lag has been vanquished by mighty Bethesda programmers, unfortunately the v1.2 title update for Xbox 360 and PS3 has negated all damage resistance.

That means your enchanted gear and racial bonuses provide no elemental protection, with foes suffering the same. Also dragons have grown tired of forward momentum.

In a quirky development, dragons have been sighted flying backwards. Naturally the community forums are aflame (in with a pun!) over the lack of resistance bonuses now plaguing Skyrim.

You can of course refuse to update the RPG to v1.2 until Bethesda release a new patch but that means you can't sign in to Xbox Live or PlayStation Network while you play. What does a backward flying dragon look like? See below.

Ehm....I guess I may hold off for now then until they confirm no such shenanigans on PC...although backwards flying dragons are pretty awesome :P

Ok, that looks incredibly weird :).

Well that's not so bad.

OK, I'm not going to level up my version just yet :P I have enough trouble getting dragons to land without them flying the wrong way.

I'm now quite relieved that I don't have the game yet, aside from the man hours I'd be losing. when I can afford it (ie. it has dropped to a reasonable pricve) all of this should be sorted out.
Patches these days seem to break more than they fix, and that's speaking right across the board in every genre. What are the computer colleges teaching these days?

Ps. for a different approach to reviewing the game (and if you haven't seen any of Yahtzee's stuff) have a gander:

OH hero, keep deluding youself :)

The PC version at least is running like a charl over here. YEs, there's the occasional bug but it's smooth sailing most of the time. Sweet, smooth sailing.

Also, ZP finally did Skyrim! WOO!

I had the exact same thoughts when I saw Yathzee's review, at long last :D
Ever since Extra Credits left the escapist, I've only entered their site for his reviews. Especially since SI has more and quicker news updates :P

Only reason I go to ZP. Had a chance to ask Ben "Yahtzee" when he was reviewing "Skyrim" as I saw him down the shops the other day. He was hit up by a few female fans so I left well alone (his ego doesn't need any more polishing:D).

Roderick, leave me alone about this damned game, you fanboi:)
...or is that FanOrc? never can tell with you Skyrimming people....sounds vaguely pornographic.

What a mess. Don't release broken patches.

Skyrimming? I don't know if I should be disgusted or mildly aroused....let's go with both!

So Yahtzee...is he always like that? :)

Hehe....
Yahtzee? Yes, he is surrounded by an air of self-importance, rather than women (or little girls I should say - he has a gf). No one else seems to really notice him, though. Can't miss him with that porkpie hat and can usually be found hanging around a McDonald's.

The game still CTDs very often...

Sounds like you see him a lot, hero. I always imagined Australia as one huge outback you could never be found in :P

Honestly, even if it wouldn't break things up, I, for one, am genuinely astonished by the priority & importance of issues addressed given how many show-stopper quest bugs I've found so far, that haven't even been touched.

Well it's a shame to see a fellow dragon trying to fly after drinking lava from an erupting volcano last night with me, but believe me, he's gonna sober up quickly, and then he'll find every last one of ya who were mocking him for his bad flying! :p

However, there's a lesson right in front of us: "Don't drink and fly! Instead, use Alteration magic and levitate!"

Can anyone confirm that PC version of patch doesn't have backwards flying dragons and resistance break ? Is it safe to update ?

Since I have to cut STEAM's access to internet everytime I launch Skyrim to prevent it from updating...and it's really frustrating.

@RadamentX: I've updated it to 1.2 on PC, and I don't get those issues.

I never seen bug like that in skyrim :O xD An ancient dragon with seizures... xD

Well &^$&. I've never had a bug in 30 hours of gameplay and now, within an hour, I got two broken quests, companions and main quest. And only the main quest has a solution so far. According to Bethesda, they'll only start fixing quests in January so...bye-bye companions, I guess :P
