The newly announced RPG 'South Park: The Game' from developer Obsidian Entertainment, and TV series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, are being joined by THQ.

The publisher praised Stone and Parker as "arguably two of the most important comedic talents of their generation." THQ EVP Danny Bilson added this was a "dream-come-true."

It was revealed that a South Park RPG was in the works from the upcoming January issue of Game Informer, which will host the title as its cover story. Obsidian is creating it.

"Our goal is simple: to put creative talent first," said Danny Bilson, EVP Core Games, THQ. "Matt and Trey are arguably two of the most important comedic talents of their generation. Bringing their vision of South Park to the interactive space is a dream-come-true." In the game we are a new kid that can befriend Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny.

THQ tease that the first real details are inside the upcoming Game Informer issue. South Park: The Game releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in the second half of calendar 2012. Are you a fan of the irreverent TV show?
