Mark Richard Davies was lead designer for Enslaved, but has been working at Uncharted developer Naughty Dog for a while, but it was never on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

He revealed it was actually The Last of Us all along, which has been in the works for the 2 years at the studio with a secret second team. The voice actors have been named.

This PS3 exclusive title combines survival and action as the modern day world has been ravaged by a plague, and now major cities are being reclaimed by nature and savagery.

"Okay, so I never worked on Uncharted 3 - I was really doing this," twittered Mark Richard Davies, pointing to the Spike VGA trailer for The Last of Us. "Finally I can stop lying!"

The Last of Us is a "character driven story" from the studio. "Naughty Dog's mission is to change the way people experience video games. We are confident The Last of Us will take a leap forward in cinematic gaming and storytelling, providing gamers with an experience unlike anything else in the industry," said Evan Wells of Naughty Dog.

Actress Ashley Johnson will be playing the role of Ellie, a "brave young teenage girl who is wise beyond her years", while actor Troy Baker fills the boots of Joel. Johnson is best known for Chrissy Seaver in TV show Growing Pains, while Baker has credits from Final Fantasy XIII, Catherine, Batman: Arkham City and is BioShock Infinite's Booker DeWitt.

The Last of Us releases exclusively on PS3 at an undisclosed date.

Gotta admit they are hella good at keeping secrets! 2 years without a word! :O
Sounds like their trying to follow Heavy Rain's example of storytelling. Where your completely unaware that your actually playing a game - which is how I felt at times with HR. But I'm guessing The Last of Us will actually have controls? Lol
