APB Reloaded tops 3M registered users mark

GamersFirst has announced that the reborn APB Reloaded has hit 3 million user registrations, passing the mark shortly after the game debuted on Steam. The game is now the second most popular free-to-play title on Valve's digital distribution service.

The timing for this announcement coincides with the imminent release of the game on retail shelves as a $30 game in Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and GameStop stores across the US. The retail game will feature $50 worth of content.

The Steam release was also timed with the addition of the Fight Club DLC, which basically adds third-person shooter play set in new maps within APB Reloaded's city setting. The DLC is basically a pick-up-and-play mode that's essentially a session-based online shooter with vehicles.

According to GamersFirst senior VP of marketing and business development Rahul Sandil: "We recognized the potential for APB Reloaded to be a true breakout hit in the Free2Play category all through beta testing. We quickly amassed a vocal, dedicated community, and they've been instrumental in growing the game and helping better the experience."

APB Reloaded is having quite the renaissance since it was shuttered last year by the now-defunct Realtime Worlds before being picked up by GamersFirst.

I've installed the game, but haven't gotten around to trying it out yet. Might give it a look this w/e....so little time, so many titles.

I'm getting unbearable loading times, excessive lag and annoying glitches aplenty...going to play some Retribution now.

Spent most of my free time on "STO", now at Vice-Admiral (highest rank). Hopefully the promised Admiral rank will be brought in shortly, but noone seems quite sure what their duties will be, keeping the Lore. I'd like to create my own AI-controlled fleets (made up from the ships I already have, and any I might capture). Once you "top-out", aside from replaying Episodes and joining in "Events" there's not much else to do.
Spending time on "DC Universe Online" as well, though I really cannot understand why anyone would want to pay subscription. It's just not that good overall.
"Retribution" - I've heard of it, but never really looked into it. Is it a bit like "Saints Row", Roderick?

I HATE NOISE MARINES!!!

Attack them at range? They won't let you. Attack them in melee? They won't let you. You are damn near obligated to counter them with a vehicle. Although playing as IG I did find that a missile barrage fromù a manticore also did the trick. *Evil laughter*

I didn't think "DoW II" was your thing so I didn't mention it. Great to hear it.
Noise Marines are a right royal pain I agree, so ranged assault is the tacti I've always used (using Melta/Rockets). Nothing quite like them, from memory.
