Bethesda, as promised, has released a minor update to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the PC that restores support for 4GB Tuning (Large Address Aware). Gamers with powerful rigs can finally take advantage of their abundant RAM to improve performance and visuals.

The other minor fix by the patch fixed an issue with accented characters that were not displaying properly at the end of a line.

It is buggy as heck - but also very fun for exploring - but once you get over the new graphical tweaks and ooohs and ahhs and the mechanic ones more become more visible - you realize that it is what it always was - yet another new edition with something new and a lot cut out....
Still - this one makes the exploring really really fun! Oh and did I forget to mention it - fighting is probably finally really fun!

First time you get a critical shout and in slow motion shouts an opponent off a steep cliff - you have to smile ;)

@Roderick
Bit harsh, Roderick.
As for being a scewed Aussie - well they've just banned "Syndicate" (the new one) here, and that IS screwed.

@djole381
$90, or $60+P&H on EBay....forget it. Same with Amazon.

So, when it IS affordable it should be in great shape...as I said (hopefully not boring or offending anyone else).

Ps. "Total War SHOGUN 2" is less than $9 on GG today:)

Yes, the R18+ classificaton has gone on the backburner yet again, and yet again Australian gamers are treated as immature, simple-minded kiddies by the Richard Heads at the OFLC.

"Australian gamers were embarrassed in front of the global gaming community yet again with the news that EA’s “Syndicate” was not granted a rating by the Australian Classification Board, rendering it banned from importing into the country this week.
This is the latest decision by the baffling organisation who’s main purpose seems to reduce all form of Adult (ie. 18+) videogaming entertainment.

“The game will not be available in Australia despite its enthusiastic response from fans.
We were encouraged by the government’s recent agreement to adopt an 18+ age rating for games.
However, delays continue to force an arcane censorship on games – cuts that would never be imposed on books or movies,” EA Corporate Communications’ Tiffany Steckler told website Joystiq.

“We urge policy makers to take swift action to implement an updated policy that reflects today’s market and gives its millions of adult consumers the right to make their own content choices."

“Civilians can be shot, accompanied by copious bloodspray, but it is not possible to decapitate or dismember them.
"It is noted that in cooperative play, points are awarded for civilian casualties” ".

@kres yes the ctd's are still there. The new official 4gb patch helps some and as far as I have noticed, it makes gaming sessions a wee bit longer...

I think there was also another update for the console versions as well?
As much as i love wreaking havoc in Sykrim, I've been thinking of putting it back in the case for awhile. At least until Bethesda has come up with a bunch more patches, and something that won't make my PS3 freeze up every hour, which then forces me to do a freaking system recovery only to find Nothing wrong! Which I've had to do around 5 times already!! Deep breath! Ok, I'm good.
