Having gone through the 80's and 90's of gaming development I'm one that is certainly not enamoured with the retro look of many popular Indie titles today ("Minecraft", "Terraria" etc). Games looked like that for a reason....they couldn't look any better.
The mistake in the race for the Graphics Utopia was losing the entire concept of involving and lengthy gameplay.

Then again we live in a fast-food age, so by the time you're finished with a 6 hour SP there's another on the shelves. Gone are the days of buying 2-3 games a YEAR.

Minecraft and FortressCraft look the same, for the most part, but they have different aims. FortressCraft is more of an action title.
