The strategy revival of XCOM with Enemy Unknown from Civilization developer Firaxis will be arriving before the upcoming shooter, as it gets delayed into next year, reports Game Informer.

Fans will likely give a cheer that at least the more 'faithful' return of XCOM will still be gracing us. Enemy Unknown keeps the tactical turn-based play that made the PC series.

If anyone knows turn-based gameplay it's definitely Firaxis and Sid Meier. 2K Games had already delayed the XCOM shooter from March until next fiscal year (April - March 2013).

Details of Firaxis' XCOM: Enemy Unknown have been pouring out from Game Informer. XCOM and XCOM: Enemy Unknown releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Are you glum over the shooter's delay?

I'll take the Firaxis title first anyway. I look forward to what they've done with this venerable franchise. The shooter I'm not so sure of.

I don't really care about the shooter to be honest. But the original series revival is possible the best thing I could've wished for. So I'm all over it! Truly can't wait!
