Ten days ago, 343 Industries warned gamers not to fall for emails promising them inclusion in a non-existent Halo 4 beta. Microsoft has now filed a complaint against a fake Halo 4 beta site, www.halo4beta.com.

The complaint (Case No. 1426106) was officially filed with the National Arbitration Forum, and although the operator of the site has taken the site down, Microsoft is still going ahead with the complaint. The company fully expects the National Arbitration Panel to order the name be transferred.

Halo 4 is due to be released this Fall on the Xbox 360.

Hmmmm, I think the results of this complaint can be pretty much guessed already...

Microsoft, being the masters of litigation that they are will certainly have this wrapped up pretty darn quick (as you implied Jasca). They are quite nasty when it comes to the monetary penalties as well....just ask any store owner who breaks the street release date on a Microsoft game.

Considering this is outright fraud...

...it makes you wonder why they even bothered. Feeling masochistic perhaps, or in need of fining and/or prison.
