THQ CEO Brian Farrell has announced that Metro: Last Light, the sequel to Metro 2033, has been delayed until 2013. The game had been scheduled for Fall 2012.

The announcement was made during a THQ investor conference call, and the reason for the delay was simply that developer 4A Games needed extra time to "polish" the game.

Back at E3 2011, 4A Games released a trio of gameplay videos showing off the gameplay of Metro: Last Light. The original Metro 2033 earned a 7.0/10 score in Strategy Informer's 2010 review.

Believe it when I see it. I'd say THQ have more serious problems to adress than a flimsy announcement trying reassure investors.

Well even if THQ collapses the game will be picked up by someone else, so no worries there. Too bad for the delay though.
